Connecting foster and adoptive families to support services and community resources.
A ministry of New Life Bible Church, Fosters United seeks to put God’s love into action by providing support services and community resources for foster and adoptive families. We started with a clothing closet and a Facebook group. We have recently expanded this ministry to include face to face support groups for foster and adoptive parents. We are excited about new focus of Fosters United and are working diligently to develop our website and additional programs for foster and adoptive parents and the children in their care here in Northern Illinois and internationally in Uganda.
Our clothing closet, located in the Leaf River Community Complex (Leaf River, IL) will continue to provide clothes, toys, books, and suitcases for foster children and other children in need. At the time, the closet is only open for donations or distribution of items by appointment. You can call 815.335.1405 to make an appointment with a volunteer. Volunteer opportunities will be posted on this page and we are always looking for quality children’s clothing that is clean and modern.
Fosters United hosts a Facebook group where foster and adoptive parents and those who want to help them can communicate their needs and resources and also share foster related encouragement and prayer. We also have a Friends of Fosters United page where those who support the foster care community can learn more about us, our events, and how to help.
